SOMATIC RELEASE PRACTICES
Included below are 3 different emotional release exercises for you. The primary goal of these practices is to open the body wider and clear as much emotional debris (i.e. grief, anger, frustration, agitation) as you reasonably can, so that you can experience yourself as more present than you did before the release. And… so you can experience yourself with more space inside, after releasing what no longer serves you. With more space inside, you can more readily access your clarity as to path and purpose. And there is more room to process experiences and to learn any lessons at their heart.
If you are up to it, try one of these practices and compare and contrast your experience of presence before and after. Perhaps even look in the mirror and see if anything about your energetics or your appearance shifts after you grant yourself permission to move your feelings through. Do not engage in an exercise if you find it dangerously demanding and rigorous. Move into it at a pace that you can process and integrate. And then reflect on who lives below all the emotional and physical armor that you have accumulated over time. That armor has served a purpose—and may still be necessary—but it is also an obstruction to clarity. If we want to know what is real, we need to be energetically open and fluid. We need to embody presence as a whole being experience. And clearing our debris is one step in that direction…
