The Book Description for 'In Trudeau's Kitchen' is completed! (Link to pre-order coming soon!)
'When Sophie Grégoire Trudeau—then wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau—shared a quote from one of Jeff Brown’s books on Facebook in 2017, he felt compelled to reach out and volunteer to support her mission. As his fingers hovered over the keyboard, a quiet voice rose within: Don’t step into the political world. He ignored the voice, and clicked SEND. The Whistle-Blower’s journey had unknowingly begun. Life, as he knew it, would never be the same.
In the years that followed, Brown made three decisive efforts to cut ties with Mrs. Trudeau. After his second attempt in 2020, he was struck with a stark warning: a chilling phone call interception. This marked the beginning of a 52-month onslaught of political persecution. For reasons he did not yet understand, Brown soon became a threat to a network of powerful individuals, government agencies, and corporations. Together, they launched a coordinated effort to silence him through psychological manipulation, intimidation, scapegoating, and gaslighting.
The more Brown stood in his sovereignty, the more the spokes of the terror wheel turned to obstruct him. The attacks were ruthless and persistent: shadow-banning of his business, book blocks, investigative stonewalling, cyberstalking, smear campaigns, invasive spyware infiltrating his devices, data tampering, and a stream of ominous threats. In Trudeau’s Kitchen is a shocking revelation of how an ordinary citizen can become the target of not only the political world—but of an invisible empire of covert systems, governmental agencies, and even the corporations we depend on daily.
Brown’s story exposes the dark arsenal wielded by power-brokers to direct human consciousness through cyber-manipulation, algorithmic polarization, and targeted surveillance. With bold new language, this book calls out the ‘techno-terrorists’ and ‘invisi-bullies’ who influence our online and offline communities. In a visceral and deeply relatable way, In Trudeau’s Kitchen exposes the true nature of abuse of power, while arming us with the tools to confront it head-on. The reader will come away equipped to better protect themselves from those who seek to utilize technology to turn us against ourselves, and each other.
In Trudeau’s Kitchen is more than an exposé on the invisible world operating behind the scenes. This book also represents the archetypal Hero’s Journey. It is the candid account of a lone wolf citizen, steadfastly committed to speaking truth to power, while facing unimaginable attack and betrayal. Jeff Brown exposes the shockingly raw facts of his story, while eloquently blending keen personal insights, characteristic wit, and hard-earned wisdom—inviting readers to meet their own lives with greater courage and confidence.
It is rare that a Whistle-Blower shares their story while still on the raging battlefield. People often imagine themselves as warriors—until they are up against the most daunting threats. Like David v. Goliath (on steroids), one opponent after another comes and goes, while our hero stands firm. Brown’s story is every person’s story of finding their way through impossible circumstances, on the wings of faith and guile alone. In fighting for his own dignity, he fights for the dignity of us all.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, In Trudeau’s Kitchen is a revolutionary act—a heroic journey that will empower you to meet the challenges of your own life with courage, faith, and unstoppable conviction. Jeff Brown’s story will rebrave us and leave us with no other option: It’s time to fight for our right to the light.”
DEVELOPING YOUR NOT KNOWING MUSCLE
We live in a world that is obsessed with knowing. Knowing who we are, knowing why we are here, knowing which opinion is the right one. Yet we seldom have the time, space, patience, energy, and focus to really know much of anything. And this has only gotten worse in the overstimulating and fast-paced world we live in. The instantaneous nature of the digiphrenic age is designed to overwhelm and distract us to such an extent that it is almost biologically impossible to sit still and take a deeper look at what is happening within us and the world-at-large. If we want to survive, we need answers and we need them fast. Because the next image—and superficial vision of possibility—is coming through quicker than we can integrate it. And so we end up lost on the pathways of knowing.
We saw so much of this in the public response to the events in Gaza. Rather than slowing down and exploring the complex context that sources the conflict, people raced to a polarized position that doesn’t even begin to capture the nuances at its heart. And who can blame them? Overwhelmed by a rapid-fire of manipulated optics, with no time in their lives to research much of anything, the easiest solution is to have an opinion and take a stand. And yet, the tendency to superficialize inquiry ensures that no informed solution will ever be reached. You can’t change the story until you know the story that preceded it. We really need to get a clear sense of what every side has experienced, before we can come to meaningful conclusions about directionality. And to do that, we have to grant ourselves permission to sit in the not knowing and inform it with real-time wisdom. Will we?
The meaningful distinction between an informed wisdom and one that is simply expedient cuts to the heart of most everything relevant in our lives. Pick a partner, a position, or a career path too quickly and you will probably suffer for it. If we can’t sit inside of a question for as long as it takes to find the right (and true) answer, we will be forever lost. I remember having a very clear sense of this long ago, when I was seeking to clarify my own career path. I loved law, but knew that it was not the right path for me in this lifetime. Whenever I leaned back towards it, I felt myself falling further away from the kind of satisfaction that comes with an informed knowing. It felt like a relief to put the question away and take a stand, but it was a fleeting feeling, because there was a deeper inquiry that wanted to happen. Only when I broke the patriarchal rule and surrendered to the not knowing could I find my way to the answer that was right for me. I am not quite sure how I did that given how conditioned I was to knowledge as the elixir for all that ailed me, but the time spent in the chambers of confusion were essential to the finding and living of the sacred purpose that lay within me.
When we jump to personal identity (and political perspective) too quickly, we risk more than simply time lost. We risk never arriving at our own door. Our sacred purpose—which surely includes those causes that ignite our activism—demands that we sit in the not knowing for as long as we need before we choose a path or take a stand. And then, we are all in, because we have worked through all the underlying uncertainties and resistance to owning our true perspective and path. It’s worth the work and the wait…
In the week(s) to come, I encourage you to honor yourself by taking a close look at the decisions before you. Decisions as to your opinions on worldly matters, decisions as to the personal path(s) you are walking. To the extent possible, take a step back from the busyness and overwhelm of modern life, and surrender to your confusion. Allow yourself to live in the question of what you believe, and why you are here in this lifetime. Grant yourself permission to explore your uncertainty and befriend your confusion.
At the heart of all of this is the development of your 'wander muscle'. That is, the invitation to wander… a willingness to accept—even in a world that INSISTS that we know who we are and what we believe... that we really don't know and that we are willing to brave it by jumping into experience to gather the information we need so that we can make our steps more conscious. Not habitual, not repetitively safe, but alive with inquiry and expansion. I am not talking about ungrounded, path avoidant explorations, like with those who hide in their seeking, the one more workshop, the one more step. I am talking about those who make this process a conscious one and take it deeply seriously… because what is more serious than finding the path that is truly our own?
In SOULSHAPING , I wrote this: “Moving forward sometimes demands that we live lost, knowingly surrendering our attachment to who we think we are, voluntarily stumbling around in the dark with little to guide us. Coax the voices that confuse you to the surface. Hold the space for all of them at once. Remain confused until clarity emerges on its own terms. Everything in its own time.”
As part of the exploration, as part of the befriending of your confusion as to path, as part of allowing yourself the luxury of wandering about researching what you think and who you are, it can be helpful to understand some of the processes of transformation that come with the territory. There will be resistance to new ways of thinking and being. There will be openings and periods of surrender. There will be pressure from external factors. There will be a sense of dissolution, a falling apart of your usual ideas of self. And then, if you can stand in the fires of transformation, there will also be a re-integration, the coming together of new perspectives and a new sense of self.
For those of us who have been particularly defined by practicality and the world around us, this process can be quite startling, as we wake up and realize we are not who were imagined we were. You need to be prepared for that discomfort, and you need to be patient with the process, because it can take a long time, a lifetime, to transform in the direction of our true path more fully. Because we are not only doing something that we have not been conditioned to do, we are also doing something that most of our ancestors were not able to do, trapped as they were in survivalist structures that compelled quick answers. In this way, we are pioneers—pioneers of purpose, laying down new tracks for humanity, perhaps even elevating the vibration of those who came before. And this is perfect. Because what else is life about, if not to find our truest place within it?
In the week(s) to come, consider the possibility of deepening the miracle that is you, by creating space in your inner and outer world to surrender to whatever is required to reach a place of informed wisdom about anything and everything that matters to you. And until then, to allow yourself to re-frame the not-knowing as something essential to a mature clarification of your path and perspective, rather than as a sign of failure. It surely isn’t!
