In our overwhelming world, there is often little time to feel into what calls us. And yet, from an energetic and creative perspective, riding the enlivening energy of our callings is one of the best ways to ensure our survival. Buffered from the madness of the world (and even our own little bits of madness), we are rooted in that which calls us, and that rootedness solidifies us and makes it easier to deal with life’s ongoing challenges. That’s not to say that everything gets easy, but everything makes more sense, because we know why we are here. When we know that, we can endure most anything. When we don’t, we are more at risk of being flooded by the chaotic energy of the world-at-large. And this is particularly worrisome, now that we have entered into a time of great collective uncertainty. What is certain are our reasons for being. They ground us, they motivate us, they inspire us to keep going and growing, no matter what is up against us. And to the extent that we can live life as calling, we are more likely to preserve and evolve humanity.
