In the last weeks, we began to explore an experience of presence. Not being present as a concept, or an intellectual experience, or as a way of dissociating from the past, but as a truly embodied experience. That is, being here now as a FELT EXPERIENCE. In the patriarchal spiritual world, the “moment” is often confused with something body-avoidant. That is, you are ‘in the now’ when you can still your mind, no matter how much unresolved emotional material still agitates you and persists in upsetting your daily life. I call this “the power of then.” That is, the significant impact of old material on our capacity to be here, now. It’s been my experience that clearing our emotional debris and working through our obstructive issues, patterns, and beliefs, is essential to our quest for a truly embodied and inclusive presence. We will spend more time on the resolution of issues and patterns in the coming weeks, but for now, lets build upon the breathwork that I encouraged last week, and lean into releasing any old emotions that are longing to move on through. In my Grandmother’s words, “better out than in.” Revisiting the following exercises—and integrating some/all of them into your weekly release regimen—will support your efforts to create pathways of presence that will serve you going forward. So, lets ready ourselves to let go of what no longer serves us….
